Emmaus Logan Banner made by Linda from Clayfield Parish - it represents both sides of Logan - East and West - and in the shape of a tree which is also a cross - a truly beautiful work of art
Emmaus is an opportunity for young people to develop their life of faith in Christ. Emmaus acknowledges that our life is a journey and that Jesus will walk with us; just as he did with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus after Easter (Luke 24).
The first part of experiencing Emmaus is to attend an Emmaus weekend, where young people will be sharing parts of their journey in Christ as well as having times of worship and fun. This year the weekend was held 1 - 3 August.
The second part of Emmaus is for your youth group to follow up with regular meetings to continue your spiritual journey with the support of your parish group.
Emmaus is a powerful means of developing the lives of young people in your parish. Follow-up groups don’t just affect the young people involved within them, but also affect the faith communities to which they belong.

Report on 2008 Emmaus Weekend
As parent couple for the Logan Emmaus group we would like to thank you all very much for your prayers as we attended the weekend which was held recently at Kindilan.
What a wonderful time we had. To watch these young people between the age of 16 and 30 share their faith and witness to the candidates was really a blessing to all. The way they encouraged each other was truly amazing.
The talks which were given by the team, and the group discussion time which followed brought out a time of reflection by all on our own faith journey. The Emmaus band accompanied us in all our worship with some really inspiring tunes which had us all dancing in our seats. If you ever have the chance to experience them, please take up the opportunity as they have plenty of talent in this group.
One of our group Sara, who attended last weekend as a candidate shared her experience in a most unique way at our last meeting. We also took this opportunity to reveal our banner which was presented to us on the weekend, by one of the other parent couples. It depicts both sides of our parish and as one person said; it represents a whole city where most others only represent their suburb.
REGULAR MEETINGS OF LOGAN EMMAUS
We would like to invite any of you who are in this age group to join us at our regular meetings held on Sunday evenings beginning at 6pm which alternate between St Marks and Good Shepherd. A light meal is enjoyed over fellowship, a time of pre-arranged games, and then usually one of our members gives a talk which is followed by discussion. We usually try to finish by 8.30pm.
For details of dates of meeting and if you have any enquiries, please phone Pam or Brian Tullett on 3209 9702
