BASICALLY CURSILLO is a movement from the Church that focuses on helping each person to discover themselves, their relationship with Christ and with others.
Cursillo
· has a method that shows how the Gospel can be lived in everyday life.
· provides a means of support to enable Christianity to be lived.
· has proved to be a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to get to know self, God and others.
Many millions of people around the world have experienced Cursillo.
In more detail …
Many parishioners have attended a Cursillo weekend – a short course in Christian Living which is held over three days. During these three days participants are equipped for mission through a series of talks, activities, singing (lots of singing), prayer and worship.
Having attended a 3-day course, cursillistas return to their home environment (their parish, their homes, their place of work). In the parish they are encouraged to join a small group known as a group reunion in which they can find support and accountability for their intended ministry / mission (known as apostolic action).
Many parish cursillistas actively participate in regular group reunion and ultreyas (a larger inter-parish or regional fellowship gathering), supporting one other as they participate in parish and community ministry, as well as offering themselves in support of the movement as team members, or to be on Servant Community or Secretariat.
The Parish Coordinator for the movement is Louise Harris who can be contacted on 0412 573 124 … for information about Cursillo, application forms, information about upcoming events.
A Note from National Secretariat:
C u r s i l l o L o g o
This symbol was adopted by National Secretariat as the official logo for the Anglican Cursillo Movement of Australia in October 1988. It was produced and funded by the Diocese of Rockhampton.
The cross, with the square in the centre, is called a quadrate cross. The vertical line of the cross represents our relationship with God - our love and prayers to Him - His love and blessings to us. The horizontal line represents our reaching out to each other and to the world in and through Christ. The square centre is perfectly balanced and represents the still point - the Heart of God where we find peace and calm - perfect balance.
The points of the square represent the four canonical gospels - radiating out - sent into the world and beyond in the power of His Spirit.

Our motto reminds us that as followers of Christ we are called to
Make a friend - Be a friend - Bring that friend to Jesus
